Vera J. Burrey, age 75 of Temperance, MI, died Saturday, February 27, 2010 in The Toledo Hospital, Toledo, OH. Born March 22, 1934 in Spencer, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Hayward and Eula (Langford) Sutphin. Vera married James Burrey on August 17, 1953 in Toledo, OH. He preceded her in death on June 11, 1995. She was employed as a custodian for the Bedford Public Schools for over 15 years, retiring in 1996. She was a member of the AFSCME, Local 2071. Vera enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are her loving children, Pamela (Patrick Robinson, Jr.) Struffolino of Toledo, OH, Renee Burrey of Wauseon, Ohio and Keith Burrey of Lambertville, MI. Brother, Carroll (Nancy) Sutphin of Oregon, Ohio. Aunt, Freda Fast of Grafton, WV, several grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Best Friend, Hazel Jernigan of Petersburg, MI. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and 5 brothers, Obrie, Millard, Mitch, Hollie and Danny Sutphin. We will remember her as our mother, grandmother, sister and best friend.
Visitation will be from 3-9 pm Wednesday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. ( at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will follow at 11:00 am. Pastor Frank Paine, officiating. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park |
