Orrin Whitmill, age 88 of Temperance, MI, died Tuesday, January 12, 2010 in Windhaven Elderly Care Center, Temperance, MI. Born Sept. 13, 1921 in Temperance, MI, he was the son of Orrin and Blanche (Teal) Whitmill, Sr. A WWII Navy veteran, he married Ruth Ann Hein on July 27, 1946. She preceded him in death on December 24, 1996. Orrin was a machine operator for Toledo Scale for over 30 years, retiring in 1981. He was an avid bowler and also enjoyed playing pool. He was a member of the Bedford Senior Center and had attended Bridgepoint Church (Formerly First Baptist Church) in Temperance, MI.
He is survived by his loving children, Carol (Bob) Van Dusen and David (Linda) Whitmill. Brothers, Kermit Whitmill and Eugene (Lynn) Whitmill. Sister, Luella (Herman) Hein. 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Milton and Glenn Whitmill and sister, Pauline Heck
Visitation will be from 3-9 pm Sunday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. ( at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 am. Reverend Robert Hinz, pastor of Bedford Alliance Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Erie Union Cemetery, Erie, MI. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
